Aluminum Angle Sizes and Dimensions

Aluminum angles are one of the standard aluminum extrusion profiles available in equal-leg and unequal-leg configurations.
Aluminum angle dimensions are specified as Leg A × Leg B × Thickness. For example, 50 × 50 × 5 mm is an equal aluminum angle, while 50 × 30 × 3 mm is an unequal aluminum angle. Standard extrusion length is up to 6 m, and cut-to-length supply is available.
Equal Angle
50 × 50 × 5 mm
Unequal Angle
50 × 30 × 3 mm

Standard aluminum angles are normally supplied in lengths up to 6 m and can be cut to the required length. Please confirm the alloy, temper, leg dimensions, wall thickness, length and quantity when requesting a quotation.
If a suitable size is not available, we can review a custom extrusion according to your drawing.

6061 and 6063 Aluminum Angles
Available alloy and temper depend on the selected size and production method. Please confirm the material requirement when requesting a quotation.
| Alloy | Typical Supply | Selection Considerations |
| 6063 | T5 or T6 | Suitable for general profiles and decorative finishes |
| 6061 | T6 | Selected when higher strength or machining performance is required |
Standard or Custom Aluminum Angle?
| Requirement | Recommended Supply |
| Existing leg size and thickness | Standard aluminum angle |
| Fixed cut length only | Standard angle with cutting |
| Holes, slots or threads required | Standard angle with machining |
| Special unequal leg dimensions | Custom aluminum extrusion |
| Additional ribs or mounting features | Custom aluminum extrusion |
An existing size is normally the first choice when the leg dimensions and wall thickness meet the drawing. This avoids new tooling and can reduce the production time. A custom extrusion may be required when the dimensions, corner radius, wall thickness or additional profile features cannot be matched by an existing size.
Aluminum Angle Cutting and Machining
Prototypes and small batches are handled in our dedicated custom workshop. Aluminum angles can be supplied with deburring, punching, drilling, tapping, slot milling, laser cutting and CNC machining according to your drawing.

Dimensional and Geometric Inspection
We check the key dimensions according to the approved drawing. The quality inspection includes profile size, wall thickness, machined dimensions, flatness and twist. Parts are checked before surface finishing and packing. If any result is outside the tolerance, the parts are held for review before the next process.

Surface Finishes for Aluminum Angles
Aluminum angles can be supplied with mill finish, anodizing, powder coating, electrophoretic coating or sandblasting. The surface finish is selected according to the required appearance, corrosion resistance and application.

Custom Fabricated Aluminum Angle Parts
We supply extrusion aluminum angles as cut lengths or ready-to-use parts. Short brackets, slotted mounting parts and long drilled angles can be produced according to your drawing. Part dimensions and hole positions are checked before packing.

Aluminum Angle Applications
Aluminum angles are used for frames, mounting brackets, equipment supports, edge protection and assembly parts. The required leg size, wall thickness, alloy and finish depend on the load, installation method and operating environment. Holes, slots and cut lengths can be added according to the assembly drawing.
FAQ
1.Are all standard aluminum angle sizes available from stock?
Not all listed sizes are continuously held in stock. Availability depends on the required dimensions, alloy, temper, length and quantity. We will confirm the current supply option before quotation.
8. Does anodizing change aluminum angle dimensions?
Anodizing forms an oxide layer on the aluminum surface and may affect tight-fitting dimensions, threads and assembly areas. Critical surfaces should be marked on the drawing for review.
2. Can aluminum angles be cut to custom lengths?
Yes. Standard aluminum angle extrusions can be cut into short brackets or specified lengths. Please provide the required cut length, quantity and length tolerance.
9. What tolerances apply to custom aluminum angle parts?
In many cases, yes. Internal chambers, ribs, mounting areas and guide channels can be built into one profile. This can reduce welding, separate brackets and assembly steps. Whether it is suitable depends on the required geometry, machining and production quantity.Tolerance depends on the profile size, wall thickness, cut length and machining features. 3. Can you manufacture custom-size aluminum angles?
Yes. A custom extrusion can be reviewed when existing leg dimensions, wall thicknesses or corner radii do not meet the drawing. New extrusion tooling may be required.
10. What information is needed for an aluminum angle quotation?
Please provide the leg dimensions, wall thickness, alloy, temper, length, quantity and surface finish. For drilled, slotted or machined parts, please also provide a drawing.
4. Are sharp-corner aluminum angles available?
Some existing aluminum angle profiles are available with relatively sharp corners. The achievable inside and outside corner radii depend on the profile size, wall thickness and extrusion die.
11. What is the MOQ for custom aluminum angles?
There is no fixed MOQ for custom aluminum angle parts. We have a dedicated workshop for samples and small-batch production, including cutting, drilling, slotting and CNC machining. For new custom extrusions, tooling and production setup costs will be quoted according to the profile and quantity.
5. Can the inside radius of an aluminum angle be customized?
The inside radius is formed by the extrusion die. If an existing profile does not meet the required radius, a custom die or additional machining may be considered.
12. What is the lead time for aluminum angle orders?
Lead time depends on the selected size, alloy, quantity and additional processing. The production schedule is confirmed after the specifications and drawing are reviewed.
6. Can holes and slots be added to aluminum angle brackets?
Yes. Aluminum angle brackets can be supplied with drilled or punched holes, machined slots, threads, countersinks and counterbores according to the drawing.
13. How are aluminum angles packed for shipping?
Long aluminum angles are bundled and protected to reduce movement and surface contact during transportation. Cut and machined parts are packed according to their size and quantity. Additional protection can be added for anodized or appearance-sensitive surfaces.
7. Can holes and slots be positioned from both ends?
Yes. Hole and slot positions can be machined from the specified datum. The drawing should clearly show the reference edge, spacing and applicable tolerances.
14. Can I order samples before batch production?
Yes. Samples can be produced to check the dimensions, machining features, assembly and surface finish before batch production. Sample cost and lead time are confirmed after reviewing the size and drawing.
