
From Drawing to Installed Product
Every manufacturing project involves more than a profile.
For this outdoor street lighting housing, extrusion was only the first step.
Machining, surface finishing, assembly and installation were all required
before the design became a functional product.
01 Design Requirements
The housing was designed as a custom aluminum extrusion for a street lighting project.
The design required integrated cooling features, mounting structures, and internal space for lighting system components.
Based on the drawing requirements, the manufacturing process included aluminum extrusion, CNC machining, surface finishing, and final assembly.

02 Design Considerations
Street light housings are typically designed according to thermal requirements, installation conditions, and structural requirements.
The housing design commonly considers heat dissipation, housing structure, mounting features, internal space, and surface protection requirements.
Heat Dissipation
The housing is designed to dissipate heat generated by the LED module during operation.
Housing Structure
The housing integrates cooling fins, mounting features, and assembly details into a single component.
Installation Features
Mounting interfaces are designed according to pole installation and fixture assembly requirements.
Surface Protection
Surface finishing is selected according to appearance, corrosion resistance, and environmental requirements.
Internal Space
The housing provides space for LED modules, drivers, wiring, and assembly components.
03 Extrusion Profile Production

After the profile design was finalized, the housing was produced through aluminum extrusion.
The custom extrusion profile incorporated the enclosure body, internal guide features, and assembly interfaces required for the final product configuration.
Following extrusion, the profiles were cut to length and transferred to CNC machining for connector openings, mounting holes, and other application-specific features.
04 CNC Machining Operations
Following extrusion, the housing components underwent CNC machining operations.
The machining process added the holes, threads and mounting features specified in the engineering drawing, allowing the components to be assembled in later production stages.
After inspection, the machined parts were transferred for surface finishing.

05 Surface Finishing

Following machining, the housing components received their final surface finish.
The grey anodized finish provided both appearance consistency and additional surface protection for outdoor use.
After inspection, the finished components were transferred to the assembly stage.
06 Assembly Process
Following surface finishing, the housing components moved to the assembly stage.
The LED modules were installed and secured to the machined mounting surface, creating the complete lighting assembly.
After assembly, the units were prepared for inspection and final installation.

07 Final Street Light Assembly

The street light housing was one part of a larger assembly.
A total of seven aluminum components were manufactured for the project and assembled together to create the final lighting unit.
Once assembly was completed, the product was ready for installation and outdoor street light operation.
08 Installation Application
Following production and assembly, the finished units were installed for street lighting applications.
From the original engineering drawing to the completed installation, the project went through extrusion, machining, surface finishing and assembly before reaching the final stage.
